MBACP Registered Counsellor

About me

There are times when you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, angry, low, or stressed without fully understanding why. You might feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, struggle with difficult emotions, or simply feel that something isn’t quite right.

Counselling offers you a space to slow down, explore what’s happening for you, and make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.

You may already know what’s contributing to how you feel. Perhaps you’re coping with loss, guilt, relationship difficulties, life changes, or worries about the future. You may have recently received a diagnosis, or perhaps you recognise traits of Autism or ADHD in yourself and would like space to explore what this means for you.

Unlike talking with friends or family, counselling provides a space that is entirely focused on you, free from judgement, expectations, or advice about what you should do.

My approach is psychodynamic, which means we may explore how past experiences and relationships could be influencing how you feel and relate to yourself and others today. By developing greater understanding and awareness, it can become easier to make sense of your experiences and move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I am an experienced counsellor, working in Havant. I am registered with the 'British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy' (BACP), a professional body which sets ethical standards for therapeutic practice.

I offer both short and long term counselling either face to face, via Zoom, or by phone.

What happens next

Firstly we can have a short call, Zoom or face to face chat about what you're looking for and use this time to book in a first session.

The first session will be a chance for us to ask one another questions and find out if this is what you're looking for. If it is, we'll agree a weekly day and time to continue.

I encourage having weekly sessions to build trust and momentum in what you're looking to address.

Each session, you bring whatever you would like to discuss and together we reflect, interpret and look at repeating patterns and where behaviours may have come from.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
