About me

Hello, I'm Sarah. I am an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist offering private therapy to individuals and couples over the age of 18 in Bridgnorth in Shropshire and UK wide. I offer telephone, online (via Zoom) or face to face outdoor “walk & talk” sessions.

Please note that I am currently taking some time off during the Christmas period and will be available again from 4th January 2023. Please feel able, however, to get in touch with me and I will respond to your enquiry upon my return.

Therapy is an opportunity for you to have the time and a safe, confidential space to explore your life, yourself and any issues which you feel are causing you concern or distress.

I can help with a wide range of issues such as: bereavement, anxiety, depression, panic, pain & chronic health conditions, stress, family & relationship issues, addictions, phobias and many more.

I understand that coming to therapy can feel like a daunting step to take and deciding on which therapist to see is an important decision.  So, please take a look at my profile and feel able to get in touch if you have any questions about me, the services that I offer or for a free, no obligation telephone consultation.

I also offer supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.

I'm an accredited psychotherapist with over 15 years' experience of providing therapeutic support to individuals; having worked in the NHS, the voluntary sector and in private practice.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist.

As well as having experience of working with a wide range of issues I specialise in working with the acceptance and management of physical health conditions.

Qualifications:

MSc. Integrative Psychotherapy

PG Certificate Integrative Psychotherapy
Graduate Certificate Integrative Psychotherapy
Level 3 Award in Counselling Skills & Theory

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

I am committed to continuing professional development and regular training.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

In much of my work, I use a humanistic Gestalt approach.

Gestalt therapy aims to raise awareness of emotions and feelings by focusing on your experience in the present moment. As a therapist I can help you to become aware of what you are doing and how you are doing it. In becoming more aware of yourself and your environment, you may move towards growth, change and a greater acceptance of yourself.

Although Gestalt provides the basis for much of my work, I do integrate other types of therapy into this core approach in order to meet the needs of my clients.

I have a special interest in mindfulness and specialise in working with the acceptance and management of physical health issues.

For further information about the services I offer, to arrange a free telephone consultation or to discuss booking an appointment, please contact me either by telephone, text or e-mail.

Telephone:  07715113723

I aim to respond to calls, messages and e-mails within 24 hours.
