About me

Asking for help when life feels tough can be really challenging but, just by coming here, you’ve already taken the first step.

I am an integrative therapist drawing on a range of psychotherapeutic approaches. This enables me to tailor my therapy to you as an individual and to work in ways that best suit your unique needs.  Each of us has been shaped by the unique paths we’ve taken and by the way we move through the world, with our own histories, bodies and combination of cultural, ethnic, religious, gender and sexual differences. I seek to honour these and to offer a safe, confidential and compassionate space for you to explore your sense of self, your experience and your relationships with others.

Prior to training as a therapist I worked for many years as a Pilates teacher and my studies in psychology, mindfulness and embodiment led to me developing Somatic-Awareness Pilates. I am also a Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE®)  Provider. As such I am especially interested in explorations of the body/mind interface and in trauma-orientated approaches rooted in neuroscience. Working with embodiment and mindfulness, I encourage clients to remain curious about how they are feeling in their body as well as what they are thinking and feeling emotionally.  Attachment theory, which explores early bonds with primary caregivers and how these impact our ways of being today, also greatly informs my work as do existential theories looking at how we make sense of the world and our place in it.

Finding the right therapist for you is really important, therefore I offer a full 50 minute initial session via zoom for a reduced fee of £40. This is an opportunity for you to tell me about what’s brought you to therapy, to learn more about how I work and most importantly to see if it feels a ‘good fit’ for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My own experience of therapy as being supportive, challenging and transformative deeply informs my practice. I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and I am in the process of completing an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy, both undertaken at the Minster Centre in London, one of Europe’s leading integrative counselling and psychotherapy training institutes. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP.)

I work in private practice, both in-person and online in Hastings, London and the surrounding areas, and I offer open-ended or short-term therapy according to your needs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
