About me

Hello, I’m Sarah a fully qualified, warm, down to earth, understanding therapist. I offer online session (£40) for individuals 18+. Being human is complicated, there are times we all struggle to make sense of how we’re living. Perhaps you are wondering how things will ever change. You may feel lonely, hopeless, overwhelmed, angry, fed up or perhaps numb. If you are worn out repeating the same destructive patterns and are ready for change you have come to the right place.

Who will benefit:

Those experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse, menopause, and addiction.

What I offer

I specialise in giving people a safe, calm, consistent space that is inclusive to you, enabling you to process difficult events and emotions. I believe everyone deserves to be heard, valued, and understood. I passionately believe that therapy should not be mysterious, but transparent allowing you the confidence to unlock your resources and live a rewarding life. I know when to be serious and when there is room for humour in our work together.

How to get started

I understand this bit can feel nerve racking, but you have come this far. Contact me via phone, email, or my website (all listed above).  Either to book an initial appointment or discuss what you would like to get from therapy. There’s no obligation or commitment and I welcome all questions and enquiries.

What to expect in initial session

Our first session together will be an opportunity for you to discuss what prompted you to seek therapy and is designed for you to make an informed decision about whether you would like to work with me. I hope that our time together will help you to discover, as other clients have that by working together positive change is both possible and rewarding.

'It’s never too late to be what you might have been'

Being an integrative counsellor means I draw on different theories to work in a way that is affective for you as an individual.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues. Including but not limited to anxiety, relationship difficulties, depression, low self-esteem, abuse and the menopause.

I hold a BA (Hons) in integrative counselling and am a registered member of the BACP. I draw on different approaches including psychodynamic, humanistic, transactional analysis and CBT. An integrative approach allows me to adapt therapy to your evolving individual needs.  I engage in continual professional development and ongoing clinical supervision to support and enhance my therapeutic approach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
