Chartered Clinical Psychologist (ClinPsyD), HCPC, EMDR UK.

About me

I am a compassionate EMDR trained Clinical Psychologist and have extensive past experience of working in the NHS.  I am committed to alleviating psychological distress. I do this by applying the psychological knowledge and skills I have developed over the last 25+ years through lengthy experiential training in both clinical and health psychology. I believe most people experience distress at some time in their lives and can benefit from psychological help. I offer a non-judgemental, safe environment and tailor my approach to the individual needs of my clients. I offer therapy to adults (18+).

If you would like a free 15 minute telephone consultation please book an introductory call or feel free to email me for further information if you prefer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my clinical training at Birmingham University in 2009. I attained a Practitioner Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD) and worked in the NHS full-time before taking up private practice.

Prior to this I completed my Doctorate (PhD) in Health Psychology and worked in the NHS in a joint collaboration with Cancer Research UK.

I am a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with EMDR UK. I have professional registration with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I specialise in trauma resolution (complex and single incident). I have extensive clinical experience and provide therapy to individuals experiencing depression and/or anxiety, adjustment disorders, interpersonal/relationship difficulties, physical health problems, PTSD and more.

My approach is compassion focused and I tailor therapy to fit clients’ needs rather than trying to squeeze them into a rigid model.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

In my practice I advocate a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I spend time getting to know my clients in terms of their emotional struggles and their goals and aspirations in life. I know how daunting it can be to first reach out for help and then to start working through painful issues and memories. I’m here to gently guide my clients through this.
