About me
I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist based in York. I offer short-term, goal-focussed treatment to people experiencing problems with stress, anxiety and depressed mood. I work with both individuals and couples specialising in problems with low self esteem, perinatal distress and trauma.
Training, qualifications & experience
- PG Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Royal Holloway University, London.
- PG Certificate in Couples Therapy for Depression from Tavistock Relationships.
- PG Certificate in CBT for Long Term Conditions from Sheffield University.
- PG Certificate in The Practice of Mental Health (IAPT)
- BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Newcastle University
I have over 15 years experience helping people to overcome problems with depression and anxiety. In addition to my private practice I work for the NHS as Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
I also offer clinical supervision and provide training both in-house and at UCL University.
I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at one of London's leading psychology departments, Royal Holloway University. I maintain up to date knowledge and skills within the field by regularly attending training and supervision in line with requirements for accreditation.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
