About me
I am an integrated therapist bringing a combination of person centred counselling and solution focused therapy into a tool kit where I use the skills that are the best fit for you.
Talk and explore with confidence. You and your individual situation is at the heart of your therapy. Counselling is an opportunity to explore your thoughts and emotions in a safe space where you can be heard, whether about your current situation or past events. You may want to gain greater insight into yourself, your behaviours or relationships or focus on how you want things to change. You may be seeking a place to share your innermost experiences whilst feeling safe and without judgement. You may wish to explore your past to understand how this has impacted you and to help you to move forward. Our sessions will be tailored to your needs and will support you as you progress on your therapeutic journey.
Goals for Change. My history as a solution focused therapist means if you are seeking change you will be supported to define and work towards goals to improve your situation or your mental health. Whilst I am happy to work with you on many issues, I specialise in using a solution focused approach for anxiety.
A bit about me: I completed a degree in Psychology because I was interested in understanding how people make sense of and cope with their experiences.
I decided to pursue a career as a therapist, gaining diplomas in both hypnotherapy and psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy. For around 15 years, I worked in private practise and for a number of voluntary organisations in the Doncaster area, providing mostly 1:1 sessions and also some group work. Following Covid, I recognised an overall decline in the mental health of clients who were seeking my services, which seemed to reflect a wider picture of pressure on mental health. This inspired me to qualify as a counsellor in order to meet these needs.
I now offer either counselling or hypnotherapy and for those who wish to benefit from both approaches, a combination of the two.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
