About me

Hello, my name is Sara and I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor, passionate about helping women find their true selves through counselling.

You may be at a point in life where you are feeling overwhelmed, at crisis point or struggling with difficult emotions or experiences. Some things in life are too difficult to tackle alone.

I offer you the opportunity to talk about what is troubling you and provide a warm, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you. It is a journey we can make together...I will walk beside you as you journey your path which I believe is where healing and change take place.

Due to the difficult times we are all facing I am also offering telephone or counselling via Zoom.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work with women of all ages from 16 yrs upwards. Each woman is unique and therefore, our sessions together are built around your needs. This may be looking at past traumas, relationships or life experiences. Working with what the client brings is central to my work, this includes stress, anxiety, bereavement and loss and so much more.

I am happy to work with corporate clients offering a set number of sessions to their staff.

I  have a BA [Hons] in Integrative-Relational Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) abiding by their ethical framework.

I undertake regular supervision by an Accredited supervisor and am committed to undertaking continued professional development (CPD) and attend regular training courses.

I have experience of working creatively with clients using stones, shells and other mediums to meet my individual clients needs. You are always central to our work together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
