About me

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor willing to help you explore any problems you are facing in your life. I offer a supportive, safe and confidential setting in which I can help you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, and to develop the skills to take control of your life.

I follow an integrative approach, which means that I draw from the psychodynamic and person-centered traditions within counselling. In practice this means that I believe in the importance of establishing a working relationship in which my clients feel safe and listened to, without judgement. I am also interested in exploring the influence of childhood and the earliest relationships. Each individual is unique and my approach is very much led by you, and the issues you bring to me.

When you first contact me (by phone or e-mail) we can arrange a day and time to meet. The first session will be an assessment for us to discuss what your needs are and the reasons for you seeking counselling. If at the end of this session you feel comfortable for us to work together, we will meet at the same time each week and sessions are 50 minutes. I offer short and long term work and we can decide together what will suit your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB)

I recently worked as a Fertility Counsellor at a Harley Street Clinic. I supported Heterosexual couples, same sex couples and single ladies on their journey to start a family. This is often with the use of donor sperm or eggs.

I worked as a volunteer counsellor for a charity that supports adults who have experienced child sexual abuse, a bereavement centre in North London and a charity that offers support to women and men who have difficulties with pregnancy, pregnancy loss and related issues.

I am experienced in working with adults dealing with issues including bereavement, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, shame, guilt, sexual abuse, fertility issues, relationship problems and general counselling.

I am a registered member of the BACP and follow their ethical framework.

I see clients at The Self Space who are located in Shoreditch, E1 To find out more about Self Space, and book a session with me go to theselfspace.com

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
