About me
Hello, I’m Sandra. I offer counselling for women aged 18 and over.
If you feel like you are hanging on by a thread I am here to support you.
You may have spent years being the strong one, holding everything together for everyone else, you may say yes when you really want to just say no, and you may put yourself last, but don't know why you do this.
On the outside, you might appear fine, and say your fine when asked how you are. Maybe you don't really say how you are because inside you feel exhausted, empty, and close to your limit.
You may feel unseen, unheard, or unsure of who really are.
Maybe your racing thoughts never stop, you don't sleep well, and you are always on edge.
Many women come to counselling because
they want to feel calmer, less reactive, and want to understand themselves more
they need to process loss, change and transitions, and and be held in a space which is theirs
there is, or there is a suspected diagnosis of Autism or /and ADHD and realise that a life of masking is exhausting
there are relationship issues to be explored
How I help
If we work together my approach will be to always work at your pace, and I want you to feel supported, and truly seen and heard.
We may work on:
Exploring how past experiences impact your present
How to put in healthier boundaries
Strengthen your self care
Support and regulate your nervous system
Build your confidence, self esteem and stop the negative self talk
About me

Alongside my private practice, I have experience counselling in schools, at Peace Hospice in Watford, and within an Employee Assistance Programme.

These roles alongside my own lived experience have given me deep insight into how much we all need support at times, and how the right help can be life changing.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
The initial step in your self care is to make contact. I know that this may seem challenging, particularly if you are new to counselling or have only recently felt ready to think, and talk about your difficulties.
This relationship is based on trust. After initial contact, we can schedule a time to chat and talk through your needs and see if you think I will be a good fit for you.
