About me
Hi, I'm Sam and I'm a psychotherapist delivering cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). CBT is an effective way of working together to explore current difficulties, develop a deeper understanding of what it means to the individual, and identify tools and techniques to help manage those difficulties. I offer virtual appointments via either video or telephone. I have been practising as a CBT therapist for 3 years and I work with people of all ages who are facing a wide range of mental health problems.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as a CBT therapist in 2024 with Coventry University and gained my BABCP accredited Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in CBT. I have been working in NHS Talking Therapies for the last 3 years. Prior to this, I worked in child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). In 2023, I completed my Masters in Psychology. From 2006 until 2023, I worked in children's services, working with both children and adults, supporting mental health, parenting skills, child development and safeguarding.
I have a degree in early years education studies which was the beginning of my career journey, 20 years ago, working in roles supporting others.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
