About me

I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist, couples counsellor and supervisor.

Anxious? Stuck? Trapped? Scared? Lost? Angry?Unhappy in your relationship?Separating?Divorcing?

Don't know where to start?

Start here .....you are not alone.

All of these issues are more common than you think. We can get stuck in unhelpful and destructive patterns of thinking and behaving.

Whether you are single, divorcing,in a new relationship or have been in one for many years change can happen, you can be the person you want to be.

Building a good relationship with you is key to my approach and I trust that you have built-in potential to grow and move towards fulfillment in your life. Our relationship is the vehicle for healing, learning and change and I will journey alongside you to help you understand your world by providing a safe and confidential space. This collaborative process will enable you to understand yourself/your relationship more fully and find your own inner resources which will enable you to make the changes you need to be the best version of yourself.I am empowering, compassionate and insightful.

My aim is to help you make sense of the past, live in the present and have hope for the future in ways that are meaningful to you. Painful situations often have their roots in the past and I hope to assist you to uncover hidden links and understand your own patterns and responses to your experiences. This may involve looking out for areas of “stuckness” and transitions which may be destabilising for you.

Counselling (individually or as a couple) is not about me giving you the solutions. Only the decisions you make will empower you. Therapy is all about you.

I use therapeutic interventions in an integrated way treating every client as an individual.

Couples counselling aims to help you and your partner improve your relationship and create a new one.It  can cover a wide range of issues -whether it be a rough patch, difficulties in communication, feelings of disconnection, reoccurring conflicts, life transitions,sex/intimacy issues or infidelities.

I have also extended my practice to work as a Family consultant with couples who are separating and divorcing.I am able to support the emotional and psychological well being of all parties through helping to de-escalate disputes, focus on children's needs, improve co-parenting and transition as effectively into new family structures.

Counselling is an investment in your most priceless resource... your long term happiness.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
