About me

Hi, I'm Sam.

If you're reading this, chances are that things feel really difficult right now. You might be feeling anxious or stuck, or struggling with shame or self-judgment. Maybe you're feeling out of step with the rest of the world, lost in emotions that feel overwhelming. You might be carrying a heavy burden or struggling with grief or loss. Maybe your relationships with others feel challenging. Do things feel punishing?

Sometimes even acknowledging that things feel difficult and that you want change can be daunting. Maybe you've done the hardest part already; let's do the rest together.

How I can support you:

I know that finding support can be overwhelming. My job is to put you at the very centre of our work together; to sit with you and welcome in the things that feel the most painful, frightening, or confronting.

I know from experience that this process can feel heavy, and you deserve someone who can meet you where you're at, who can listen with curiosity, unpick carefully, and even challenge, gently.

My Approach:

Our early experiences often leave echoes that last, and we get stuck in patterns and repeating cycles that no longer feel right. Together, we will gently tap into your experiences, exploring and honouring your past whilst working out 'what comes next?'.

My approach is focused on you. As an integrative counsellor, I tailor my method to your specific needs. I rely on different theories and skills, but at the forefront of that is my desire to connect with you and deeply understand how you move through the world. I see your potential for change and your capacity to know what feels right for you. Together, we can make things feel less punishing.

Get in touch:

If this feels like what you're seeking, please reach out. You can call or text me at 07934 910675, or click 'email me' above. I will respond within 24 hours so we can talk about our next steps.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I work both online / over the phone, and face-to-face.

My in-person work is carried out at a safe, comfortable, air-conditioned, and private space in central Bromley, close to transport links and with plenty of parking around.

I'm experienced at both long and short-term work; together, we can explore what feels right for you.

I'm particularly passionate about supporting those who struggle with their self-esteem or sense of self - maybe you live with persistent guilt or anxiety, or feel less worthy? Let's explore that together. I'm also experienced at working with loss; alongside my private practice I volunteer at Cruse Bereavement Support, which gives me constant understanding of and insight into the painful world of grief.
