About me
Welcome, my name is Sammie, I am a Counselling Psychologist offering online therapy. Starting therapy can be a daunting step, but my aim is to offer a safe, supportive space, where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
At the heart of my practice is a deep commitment to offering a compassionate, warm and non-judgemental space, where you can explore life’s difficulties. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to the work we do together and can often be the vehicle for change.
I work integratively, which means that I draw upon a range of psychological approaches to help you achieve your goals. I am trained in psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, but use other approaches including compassion-focused therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy. During our sessions, we will work collaboratively to agree your goals and tailor the therapy to best suit your needs.
I have extensive experience with a range of difficulties and mental health problems, including; low mood and depression, anxiety, stress and burnout, bereavement, relationship difficulties, grief, and complex trauma. I have experience working in the NHS, third sector charities, higher education, and can offer short- or longer-term therapy.
Choosing a therapist is a significant decision, and it's important to find someone who feels like the right fit for you. Due to this, I offer a free first session to make sure I am the right therapist for you. If you would like any more information or to arrange a first session, please contact me.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
