About me
Hi, I am Sammie, are you struggling with anxiety , low self esteem or challenges related to mental health ? Maybe you’re experiencing grief? feeling a loss of self ? Or you and your partner are experiencing difficulties in your relationship ?. My counselling practice stands as a beacon of hope and transformation, born from a journey both professional and deeply personal.
I am a dedicated Person-Centred Counsellor and trauma informed practitioner and from the age of 14, counselling has been a pivotal part of my life.
Engaging with counselling on and off through my adult years, I discovered the profound impact that empathetic, non-judgemental, understanding can have on an individual's life.
I prioritise, making sure that every individual feels genuinely heard and understood. My sincere passion, drives me to enable others to reach a place where they feel whole and not weighed down with self doubt, low self esteem and feel more able to express themselves authentically.
I create a safe and supportive space. Rooted in empathy, respect, and a strong commitment to empowering individuals on their journey, towards mental and emotional well-being.
I have over 25 years of experience in the NHS with both children and adults, along with my experience in education with profoundly disabled adults and their carers. I have drawn upon these experiences, bringing a wealth of knowledge to my practice. In addition to my counselling practice, I am actively involved as a volunteer counsellor with a charity in Leicestershire, supporting men and women who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence.
I understand that seeking therapy for the first time can be daunting. So to reassure or answer any questions about our session, I offer a free 30-minute initial assessment session to allow us to see if we are a right fit for each other.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
