About me
I’m a qualified sex and psychosexual and relationship therapist. So, why work with me?
I'm friendly and I care. I know it can be nerve-wracking seeking out this type of therapy so I aim to put my clients at ease quickly and work with any anxiety. I can be direct and directional if needs be (which I find couples in particular welcome.)
I'm practical and goal-orientated. A lot of what we do is investigative: digging into what's happening for you and why. I might suggest tests, exercises or interventions, or help you uncover any psychological reasons contributing to the issue, "joining the dots" as one client used to say. Maybe there's nothing to "fix", so it's about working on understanding, self-acceptance, peace.
I'm late diagnosed ADHD so I relate to anyone who has ever felt like a square peg in a round hole, a lot of my clients are neurodivergent.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience across many sex problems and relationship issues (including some quite unusual, so don't be worried about asking). I make things as comfortable as I can as quickly as I can for clients who may never have talked to anyone about this before.
As a couples counsellor ("marriage counsellor"), much of the work I’ve done is around communication breakdown and arguments, loss of intimacy or mismatched desire, affairs and betrayals, domestic disparity, separation and divorce, open relationships (non-monogamy, ENM and polyamory). With intimacy issues we start with doing a healthcheck on the relationship which is where these things often start; with communication I coach couples to really listen to, and validate, each other's hurts and needs without defensiveness.
I have successfully worked with many men, including young men, with erectile and ejaculation issues (erectile dysfunction, "erectile disorder" - ED, premature ejaculation - PE, delayed ejaculation - DE, "performance anxiety," "impotence"); often co-morbid with CSB (below), porn or kink shame, or just inexperience.
I work with Compulsive Sexual Behaviours (CSB) "porn addiction", "sex addiction", compulsive masturbation, hypersexuality (not be be confused with a high sex drive); and shame and distress around kinks and fetishes. By reducing the shame, the CSB often follows.
I also work with vaginismus, vulvodynia, dyspareunia, painful sex and pain on penetration (GPPD), and often work alongside a couple of wonderful pelvic floor therapists including a female South Asian PFT for my clients of colour.
Low libido, low sex drive, or orgasm issues come up a lot in my practice for the widest variety of psychological, physiological or situational reasons, including menopause and relationship problems. I also help clients address and rediscover sex and pleasure after sexual assault.
I work with single and partnered individuals with relationship problems or worries, perhaps loss of desire, or overwhelming jealousy, who may be having affairs and confused about what to do, or are monogamy questioning, who may be worried they have "attachment disorder." Sometimes individual therapy can become couples therapy if appropriate.
I work with anyone questioning any aspect of their sexuality, eg various types of asexuality (ACE), sexuality questioning, gender dysphoria, or confusion around identity.
I'm kink aware and have experience with kink, fetish, BDSM; and can help explore what "non-normative" sex and relationships looks like, in which I include my non-normative self.
I'm trauma informed and, amongst other methods, use Emotional Freedom Technique / EFT (aka "tapping" to help ground anxious (GAD) or distressed clients.
I have a Diploma L7 from The Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS), the UK’s preeminent psychosexual and relationship therapy school and my approach is pluralistic (aka integrative), ie a mix of CBT, person-centred and psychodynamic, which treats each client as a unique individual, not to be shoehorned into a specific type of therapy. I am COSRT registered.

I'm LGBTQ+ LGBTQIA+ affirming and adhere to Pink Therapy's GSRD (Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity) Code of Ethical Practice. I'm romantically and relationally non-normative myself so I know how hard it can be to find an affirming therapist. Honestly, it's why I trained as one.
Many, if not most of my clients are neurodiverse (ND), ADHD, autistic/autism, AuDHD (diagnosed, self-diagnosed, suspected) and I work with each person to their individual needs, taking into account any previous poor experiences in therapy and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD).
I'm late diagnosed ADHD with some autistic traits, let's talk fabrics and noises.

Further information
I work and am passionate about the pluralistic/integrative modality meaning in whichever way best suits a client’s presentation.
This method lends itself well to working with neurodivergent clients, bending therapy around a person, rather than the other way round. I have significant experience working with autistic and ADHD clients, diagnosed and self-diagnosed.
