About me
The Sunflower Practice - nurturing growth, embracing all minds.
Hello and welcome to my page,
I’m Sammie (she/her), a parent/carer and qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor (MBACP). Being a neurodivergent therapist (AuDHD – Autistic and ADHD), I offer a safe, friendly and accepting space where you can be fully yourself, without pressure to mask or explain everything to feel seen.
At The Sunflower Practice, I offer a supportive and affirming space for Autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults, as well as for parent/carers and family members of neurodivergent individuals. Whether you're exploring your own neurodivergent identity or caring for someone who is, this is a space where your experiences are seen, valued, and understood. Together, we work towards greater self-awareness, connection, and empowerment.
This space is for all individuals who identify as neurodivergent—diagnosis is not required to access therapy at The Sunflower Practice. Everyone is welcome, whether you're diagnosed or exploring your neurodivergent identity.
My approach is:
- Flexible and non-judgemental
- Based on your pace and what matters to you
- Grounded in understanding neurodivergent experiences first-hand
- Integrative – I draw on a range of therapeutic theories and approaches, adapting to what feels most supportive for you and what you're working through
I work with people exploring all kinds of challenges and questions, including:
- Anxiety, overwhelm and burnout
- Emotional regulation and sensory overload
- Relationships, boundaries and communication
- Self-exploration, identity and self-acceptance
- Feeling stuck, different or misunderstood
- Navigating life transitions or change
You’re welcome to bring whatever you need into our sessions – whether it’s something big or something that’s hard to put into words. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You’re the expert on your life. I’m here to support you in exploring it safely, kindly and with curiosity.
I offer a range of modalities to hold our sessions and am happy to discuss any adaptations/reasonable adjustments you may need to access therapy with me.
Free 30-minute intro call available. We can chat about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. Therapy is available online or in person in Ashley Cross (Poole, Dorset).

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
