About me
Hi, I am Sam. I am a person-centred counsellor working in Sussex. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties or feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I would like to offer a space for you to explore what’s going on in your life at your own pace and begin to make real changes.
I am currently welcoming new clients, I warmly welcome anyone looking for support and extend a welcome to men who might be finding it hard to reach out.
You can choose to meet in person or online—whatever feels most comfortable. Together, we’ll work towards understanding your experiences and finding ways to feel more grounded and resilient.
I think it's really important to find the right counsellor for you. I offer a free 20-minute sessions to all new clients for us to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. Book a free session today or email me with any questions you might have. Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a fully qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. My approach is broadly person-centred, with a strong leaning towards Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. I have four years’ experience providing counselling, working with issues such as anxiety, depression, and bereavement. I have worked as a counsellor in a local hospice as well as for various counselling organisations before beginning my own practice in 2024. I aim to offer a supportive and thoughtful space to explore the challenges you may be facing. I also have eight years’ experience working in the NHS, supporting people living with neurological conditions and long-term health issues.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
