About me
I work with children and young people aged 11 to 19 who are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, friendship difficulties, or struggling with challenging transitions in their lives. If your child has become withdrawn, is having trouble at school, or seems overwhelmed by their emotions, counselling can provide a safe space to explore what's happening.
Through my extensive experience in both private and state schools across Oxfordshire, I've supported young people facing a wide range of difficulties - from family changes and peer relationships to exam pressure and identity questions. I understand the unique pressures children and teenagers face in educational settings and the broader emotional challenges that affect their wellbeing.
My approach
I use a psychodynamic approach, which means we explore not just the immediate problem but the underlying feelings and patterns that may be contributing to their difficulties. This helps young people understand themselves better and develop lasting ways to cope with life's challenges.
The therapy is centred around your child - they can choose what to discuss and work at a pace that feels comfortable for them. I provide a confidential, non-judgmental space where young people can express their thoughts and feelings without fear of criticism. My aim is to help them build resilience, develop self-awareness, and find their own inner strength.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice and a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling from the University of Oxford, as well as a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. I am a BACP Registered Member and a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
I have been working as a school counsellor since 2016, with experience in both state and independent schools across Oxfordshire including St Helen and St Katharine School (2022-present), The Cherwell School (2023-2025), Cothill House School (2024-present), and King Alfred's School Wantage (2016-2019). I have also worked with adults and young people at Riverside Counselling Service (2019-2022) and The Listening Centre (2016-2018).
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
