About me

Hello, my name is Sally and I am an accredited counsellor.

I have over 6 years’ experience as a therapist, supporting adults and couples. I started off my career as a Life Coach and Clinical Hypnotherapist and later qualified as an Integrative Counsellor, offering Person Centred, CBT and Transactional Analysis Counselling.

Counselling therapy is the process of talking about and working through your personal problems. I am here to help you to address your problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore your options, develop strategies and to increase your self-awareness.

Having therapy is all about making positive change. Henry Ford once said “If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.” It’s very easy to fall into a trap of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Living with the same behaviours, making the same mistakes, having the same morals, values, and beliefs. We can feel stuck, so sometimes it’s just about being willing to take that first step into changing your life. My job is to support you through the process.

As a therapist I have gained a lot of experience working with various mental health conditions such as generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, stress, depression, low self-esteem, abuse, trauma, suicidal ideation and identity issues. I understand that one size does not fit all. For example, ten people may be experiencing the same problem, but that doesn’t mean they are all experiencing it in the same way. We are all different and so I provide an integrative approach to counselling, using a variety of therapy styles and tools to help you to become the best possible version of yourself.

One of the most important elements of counselling is the therapeutic relationship between the client and the counsellor and it is really important to make sure that you find the right counsellor for you. I offer a free telephone consultation so that we can have an initial chat, and you have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

I am based in a beautiful peaceful clinic in Alderley Edge, surrounded by fields. In summer periods, should you wish to have you session outside, we can do.

If you would prefer your sessions in the comfort of your own home, I also take online sessions which can be done on Zoom.

If you would like to enquire, please contact me and I will contact you as soon as possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
