About me
Hi I'm Sally,
I am a Person-Centred counsellor with over 10 years’ experience supporting both adults and young adults through a range of emotional and life challenges. I work with:
- trauma
- anxiety
- stress
- low mood
- self-esteem
- loneliness
- relationship and family difficulties
- grief
- and life transitions
Grief and loss
I have a particular interest and skills in supporting people experiencing grief and loss that may not always be recognised or understood by others. Grief is not limited to bereavement following the death of a loved one; it can also arise through relationship breakdown, divorce, miscarriage, infertility, changes in health or mobility, dementia-related changes, job loss, caring responsibilities, or the loss of a pet.
You may feel pressure to “move on” or question whether your loss is significant enough to grieve. Grief is a natural response to meaningful loss and can affect you emotionally, physically, and psychologically in different ways. Whatever your experience, your feelings are valid and deserving of support.
Experience and specialist background:
Alongside my counselling practice, I am a Certified Grief Educator trained by David Kessler. I also volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Support for five years, supporting people following bereavement.
My wider background includes 14 years of experience supporting people living with dementia and their carers through my work with Age UK. This has given me a deeper understanding of the emotional impact of grief, caring responsibilities, and major life changes across different stages of life.

How I work with you
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and feel deeply heard. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, allowing us to work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Many people come to me feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or struggling to adjust to significant life changes. Together, we can begin to make sense of what you are experiencing, helping you feel more grounded, supported and able to cope, feeling more in control of your life again.
My work is grounded in Person-Centred therapy, while also drawing on other humanistic approaches where appropriate.
Sessions take place in a calm and comfortable room at Cowdray Estate, overlooking the beautiful grounds.
Free Initial Introductory Call
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and see whether you feel comfortable working with me.
There is no need to face difficult emotions alone.
If you feel ready, please get in touch - I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever may be troubling you. My approach is person-centred, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life, and our work together will be guided by your individual needs, experiences, and pace.
Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. I aim to provide a safe and compassionate environment where you feel heard, accepted, and understood. I recognise that reaching out for counselling can feel difficult, and I strive to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible.
I work from the Cowdray Counselling Rooms, which offer a modern, fresh, comfortable, and calm setting for counselling. The space has been created to help clients feel relaxed, welcome, and at ease during sessions.
I work with adults experiencing a range of issues including bereavement, grief, all types of loss, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and feelings of being overwhelmed or stuck. Some clients seek short-term support around a particular issue, while others choose longer-term counselling for deeper self-exploration and personal growth.
Sessions are available [in person/online/by telephone], and I offer a confidential and respectful space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely.
My practice is inclusive, and I welcome clients from all backgrounds and life experiences.
