About us

Hello - I’m Kirsty Wilson, and I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I believe counselling works through relationship. When you feel genuinely safe, accepted, and understood, something powerful happens- you begin to trust yourself again. This isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you; it's about reconnecting with who you truly are beneath the layers of life's experiences.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I don't believe in being the "expert" who has all the answers. Instead, I offer my expertise in creating emotional safety, understanding human behavior, and supporting you to develop self-regulation skills. Together, we'll explore patterns, heal old wounds, and help you live more authentically.

Using Transactional Analysis, I help people understand their internal world — how past experiences shape present reactions, and how to create new, healthier patterns. This isn't about dwelling on the past, but understanding it so you can move forward with greater freedom and choice.

My path into counselling started with St Michael's Hospice, where I witnessed the power of being truly present with people in grief. Over the past 15+ years as an educator and more recently as a counsellor, I've supported people with grief, anxiety and personal growth - offering space for healing, boundaries, and self-discovery.

Training, qualifications & experience

I use Transactional Analysis to help people reconnect with their authentic selves, heal childhood wounds, and navigate life with more clarity and compassion.

I hold a Level 6 Diploma in Counselling from The Link Centre and am continuing my development with Level 7 Integrative Psychotherapy training. I am a member of NCPS.
