About me
Life can be very dark and difficult. During or after formidable experiences, you emerge from them feeling changed somehow. As if things just aren't the same. You feel hopeless, lost or at absolute rock bottom.
Here is a space where even the most horrendous experiences can be explored openly and without judgement. I'll sit with you in your deep darkness and emotional pain without rushing to solutions or offering false reassurance. Sometimes, before we can move forward, we need somewhere safe and honest to stop and make sense of where we are, in a world where some things just cannot be squared.
Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, genuine and straightforward. They also notice my good memory and ask if I take notes. Well, I do...but that isn't actually what helps me remember their stories! I like to be moved by my clients so I associate the feelings with their words. This makes recollection easy. I also understand that life is often messy, complicated and unfair. I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship that feels real, not allowing excessive clinical jargon to prevent raw human contact.
I also support autistic and neurodivergent clients, like those with Aspergers, ADHD or OCD. You do not have to be diagnosed - if you suspect such conditions, you are still welcome to explore the possibility or your feelings about it.
You may feel like the world has become too dark. You may feel that some feelings could never be expressed. Perhaps you yourself are a counsellor, or an emergency worker wanting support after hearing or seeing the unimaginable. Maybe you are lost, or you have lost all hope. If you are questioning everything - including yourself - I'll be right there with you :)

Further information
My style of existential therapy is about encouraging you to live life with your own mind and we'll explore your personality; your core. I'll gently challenge you to find your courageous self, so that you can anchor decisions and actions to this foundation. And therapy is not always sadness or tears. Energy, and laughter - even just at the absurdity of life - can all be vital components in healing.
I work best with clients who are struggling with bereavement, trauma, suicidal thoughts or life transitions. Initially, it is about listening to what brings you to me in as much detail you feel comfortable with.
Seeds of change can be planted as early as session one, and recovery is not always linear. It ebbs and flows, and sometimes we can feel worse before we feel better. This is because you are encouraged to connect with difficult feelings and this can actually be a sign that therapy is working.
