About me
I'll bring compassion and emotional support to our sessions, listening deeply and empowering you to increase your knowledge of yourself and your needs, and move towards greater self-advocacy and self-compassion. I'm flexible and non-judgemental and explore a wide variety of issues with clients, whatever you want to focus on.
I base my work in client-centred practice, creating a caring, accepting and confidential space for you to express and explore things as deeply as you are comfortable doing, and working alongside you to find your own solutions that specifically fit you and your situation. I often work with parents of neurodiverse children, and I have lived experience of this myself.
Some of my work is highly practical, looking at sleep, eating, seeking diagnosis and ADHD strategies towards an improved quality of life, as well as navigating challenging life situations and complex decision-making, and locating specialist services. I've worked with clients on navigating medical difficulties and the perimenopause.
I specialise in supporting adult clients of all ages who are autistic, have ADHD or both, and those who recognise neurodivergent traits in themselves but don’t have a formal diagnosis. I'm AuDHD myself, and this lived experience and knowledge is invaluable to my understanding of and solidarity with clients, and a complex understanding of both conditions and how to live and thrive with them.
I am a trained hypnotherapist and as such I offer face to face support for relief from fears, phobias, ingrained habits, performance anxiety and stress. This can be combined with or separate to counselling sessions.
I have trained in trauma, PTSD and cPTSD recovery so please do ask for a free assessment if you are seeking this support, to see if you are a good fit to work together or you need support in seeking specialist services in your area.
I have worked as a counsellor at the RNIB and am able accommodate clients with sight loss at whatever stage they are at, working online, on the phone or face to face. With online or phone sessions, whether you're in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Brighton, Bristol, or anywhere in the UK or beyond (insurance permitting), you can access therapy in the comfort and familiarity of your chosen surroundings.
