About me
Living with anxiety can be overwhelming and exhausting.
Your mind might be constantly racing with worries, making even simple daily tasks feel challenging.
Perhaps you're experiencing physical symptoms like a racing heart, difficulty sleeping, or a sense of panic that seems to come out of nowhere.
Your family and friends might try to help by saying "just relax" or "don't worry so much," not understanding that if it were that simple, you would have done it already!
Maybe you've stopped sharing how anxious you're feeling with them because you're tired of hearing "Just don't worry about it!" Perhaps you keep your anxiety hidden, worried they might see you as "too sensitive" or "dramatic."
As someone who specializes in working with anxiety, I offer a space where you can express all your worries without judgment.
My clients often tell me that my calm, steady presence helps them feel grounded, even when discussing things that usually make their anxiety spike.
Together, we'll explore what triggers your anxiety and identify patterns that might be maintaining it. We'll look at both immediate coping strategies and deeper, long-term solutions. We'll work at a pace that feels manageable for you - I understand that even the idea of talking about anxiety might be making you feel more anxious!
My integrative approach means I combine several effective methods for managing anxiety:
• I build trust with clients so that you feel able to be honest about how you're really feeling without fear of judgment
• We'll examine how past experiences might be contributing to your current anxiety
• We consider how internal and/ or external pressures and expectations might be amplifying your worries
• I teach practical grounding techniques you can use when anxiety strikes
• I work in a trauma-informed way, understanding that anxiety often has deeper roots
Having experienced anxiety myself and found relief through counselling, I understand both the challenge of taking that first step and the possibility of feeling better. Reaching out might feel scary but sending that message to ask for support could start you on the road to getting out of survival mode and actually enjoying life.
My counselling room is in Formby, easily accessible from Crosby, Ainsdale, and Southport (parking is available). I also offer online sessions, which some clients find easier when anxiety makes leaving home difficult.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 7 postgraduate diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling (distinction)
- I regularly complete CPD to keep my skills and knowledge up-to-date
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
