About me

Hello.  I am a friendly, respectful and approachable therapist understanding the diversity and inclusivity required for the creation of safe and trusting relationships.

I am an Accredited Psychotherapist/Counsellor, Accredited EMDR Practitioner and Attachment Informed EMDR Therapist. I also have a qualification in Psychotraumatology  and Life Coaching.  I have worked in mental health for 15 years and have a Private Practice in Harley Street, London and Sevenoaks.   I am experienced in working with emergency responders and military personnel and I am the Senior Counsellor and a supervisor at the London Fire Brigade practicing psychological trauma therapy in the treatment of PTSD and complex trauma. I have also worked in homicidal bereavement and was a Trauma Lead in a local NHS mental health team.

Different aspects of stress, anxiety and depression are visible indicators and symptoms of an underlying issue. I am happy to support you to relieve your symptoms or I can provide the support and expertise to explore what is creating your symptoms.

I work with all aspects of emotional injury and my approach comes from a place of, respect, sensitivity and fairness. My experience comes from complex trauma work, personality disorder issues, work related stress, bereavement and loss, depression, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship issues, stress and anxiety.    I treat my clients with respect and in confidence focusing on your symptoms and cause.

Our work begins with establishing a supportive and trusting relationship and I work holistically using a variety of models.

Psychotherapy - A talking based therapy to explore deeper past issues affecting the present.

Counselling  -  A therapy to talk through difficult  issues and reactions in your everyday life.

CBT  -  A solution based therapy to adjust and challenge thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

CBT Trauma Focused Therapy - A talking/exposure based treatment to target specific disturbing feelings in relation to past traumatic or overwhelming events.

EMDR  -  A trauma focused treatment for single or multiple trauma, approved by the NHS for the treatment of trauma/PTSD and other presentations such as phobias, anxiety etc.

Attachment Informed EMDR - An EMDR approach to desensitise and update unhelpful and inappropriate relational and environmental attachment issues from the past.

Life Coaching  -  A supportive and exploratory method to introduce new and innovative ways of functioning.

Whatever your experience, you have a fundamental right as a human being to live without emotional burden or baggage.  Our work together is the restoration of confidence, happiness and harmony in yourself and your environment.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
