About me

I am a qualified therapist offering a warm, non-judgemental and down-to-earth approach. I currently work in private practice as well as a charity setting. I work Integratively, meaning I have experience in - and can draw on - a variety of techniques and approaches, depending on each client's individual needs. Through counselling, many people experience changes in perspective, more satisfying relationships, increased fulfilment and deeper self-awareness. I have experience in delivering both short-term and open-ended therapy. I have a particular interest in relationship issues, as well as anxiety and panic.

Together we can explore what brings you to therapy, and decide on the most appropriate way forward. You may wish to explore your present circumstances, your past, or perhaps both. It is my role to facilitate the process at a pace suited to you, in a comfortable and safe environment, and to not judge, assume or analyse.

My training required me to undertake personal therapy, so I have experienced being a client, too. I know that finding the right person may be daunting, so I would encourage you to speak with a number of practitioners to explore your options. I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation for you to ask me any questions and explore whether we are a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills (Level 2) - City of Bristol College.
  • How to do Counselling online: A Coronavirus primer - BACP & Open University.
  • FdA Counselling (First Class) - University of Plymouth.

My training involved a combination of theoretical learning and practical skills, as well as mandatory personal therapy, reflective processes and client work.

I have also previously held roles in mental health and mentoring. This includes supporting people who are leaving the care of secondary mental health services, enabling them to build confidence, resilience and independence,  as well as mentoring higher education students.
