About me

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to make sense of what you are going through? Perhaps life feels harder than it should, or you are carrying something you have never quite been able to put into words. Whatever has brought you here, I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can begin to work through it at your own pace.

I provide online counselling and therapy for individuals and couples across the UK and internationally, with sessions via Google Meet, Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm.

Before retraining as a therapist, I spent over 30 years in senior Human Resources roles across banking, aviation, luxury retail, and hospitality. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the pressures people face, particularly those in high-demand professional lives, and is what led me to pursue a career in mental health.

I work with adults on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety and stress, depression, LGBT+ identity, cultural identity, career and workplace challenges, relationship difficulties, family challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, and motivation.

I offer sessions in both English and Cantonese, and have a particular understanding of the cultural pressures faced by East Asian and immigrant communities.

  • Free initial consultation: 30 minutes, no obligation.
  • Individual therapy: £80 per 50-minute session
  • Couples therapy: £120 per 50-minute session

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master of Social Sciences (Counselling) from the University of Hong Kong (2017) and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), membership number 397064.

I practise in full accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Bowen's Family Systems Theory.

I tailor my approach to each client's individual needs and circumstances.

Prior to private practice, I volunteered as a counsellor working with clients experiencing family difficulties, relationship challenges, LGBT-related concerns, depression, anxiety, and career development issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Many of the people I work with are navigating life at full stretch, managing demanding careers, complex relationships, or a sense of not quite fitting in with the world around them. Some are going through a significant transition: a career change, a relationship breakdown, or the quiet but exhausting experience of building a life far from where they grew up.

I have a particular understanding of the pressures faced by East Asian and immigrant communities. The weight of family expectations, the tension between cultures, and the difficulty of expressing emotional struggles when that simply wasn't part of how you were raised. If that resonates, you are not alone, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

I also work with LGBTQ+ individuals at any stage of their identity journey, whether that's coming out, relationship challenges, or simply wanting a space where you don't have to explain yourself.

My background is a little different from most therapists. Before retraining, I spent over 30 years in senior HR roles across banking, aviation, luxury retail, and hospitality. I understand the reality of high-pressure professional environments, and I bring that lived experience into the room.

All sessions are fully online via Google Meet, making therapy accessible wherever you are in the UK or internationally. I offer a free 15 to 30 minute initial consultation with no commitment and no pressure, so we can see if working together feels right.
