About me

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, specialising in working with children, young people and young adults up to the age of 25. I can offer therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

I work with a wide range of issues, including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, school bullying, culture transitions, parental separation. I have a particular interest in intercultural issues and how life transition, such as immigrating or studying abroad, can have an impact on a person’s identity, confidence and sense of belonging.

In therapy, I provide creative resources such as toys, art materials and games to support emotional expression. This is especially helpful for children, who often communicate best through play. I provide a safe, confidential and supportive space for children, young people and young adults to share their thoughts and worries in ways that feel manageable.

In addition to working with trauma, anxiety, and depression, I also support children and adolescents with autistic spectrum condition (ASC) and learning difficulties. Therapy focuses on helping them express their emotions, regulate feelings, and develop confidence and social skills.

Whether you are a parent seeking support for your child, or a young person or young adult looking for support yourself, therapy with me is a safe space to make sense of feelings, relationships and life challenges. I am trained to listen deeply, not only what is said, but also pay attention to the feelings that might be harder to express in words. Through this process, children and young people begin to understand themselves better: why they might feel sad, angry, anxious or stuck. This insight helps them to understand better the situation they are in, to feel more in control and look for ways to make a change.

We all face challenges at different points in life. At times, these can feel confusing, overwhelming or hard to manage. With the right emotional support and greater understanding of ourselves, changes becomes possible, and we can begin to move forward, feeling stronger, and more able to reach the things that matter most.

Therapy goals are always tailored to individual needs and are reviewed regularly either with parents or with you as a young person or young adult.
