About me
There can be many reasons people choose to come to counselling. Taking the first step to contact a Counsellor often comes after a great deal of difficulty and with some apprehension. I fully appreciate this and aim to put you at ease about the process and about beginning your journey towards greater contentment. My approach involves working with you to create a trusting relationship, allowing you to locate and use your own resources to resolve difficulties and find a better way of managing your life. You are the expert on you, so we will work together to help you make lasting changes and move towards greater self-acceptance.
I offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can work with your emotions and explore experiences, allowing you to identify challenges that are making your life difficult. I am calm and sensitive to your emotions while being strong enough to hold you in them. I will be open and honest with you about what I experience from you and will allow you to set a pace you feel comfortable with.
Having worked with people throughout my professional career in HR and training roles, I began training to become a Counsellor in 2014. I am committed to regular continuing professional development to further enhance my practice and attend regular clinical supervision and group supervision.
