About me

My name is Robyn and I am an accredited CBT Therapist with 12 years of experience supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of my clients.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, creating a non-judgmental space where nothing is off-limits or considered shameful. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, with your personal experiences and values always at the heart of our work. I am passionate about helping individuals work through life’s challenges using evidence-based interventions tailored to their needs.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), to help clients manage a wide variety of anxiety and mood-related disorders, specializing in trauma and PTSD.

I believe in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship, where shared laughter and mutual trust can be just as healing as deep reflection. Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, trauma, or personal growth, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and encouragement as we work towards building a life that feels meaningful to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BA Psychology - University of Johannesburg (South Africa)
  • MSc Clinical Applications of Psychology - Kingston University (United Kingdom)
  • PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - University of Surrey (United Kingdom)

I have extensive experience working within both primary and secondary care settings within the NHS, providing assessments and brief, as well as longer-term therapeutic interventions to individuals seeking support from their GPs for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

In addition to this, I have a rich background in working with individuals with more complex needs, having practiced in various settings such as prisons, older adult community mental health services, and learning disability services. This experience has deepened my passion for supporting adults with trauma histories who may struggle to form and maintain relationships or manage overwhelming emotions.

In addition to running my private practice, Wise Mind Psychotherapies Ltd., I also serve as a Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, supervisor and manager within a London-based NHS Talking Therapies service, bringing a depth of experience to both my individual practice and my role within the NHS.
