About me

You may be here because you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, lonely or stuck. You may not even be able to feel strongly at all. You might be struggling with low self-confidence, low self-worth or with relationships with other people. You may not even have an experience that’s easy to put into words. I offer you a reflective space where you can slow down and start to understand yourself, your relationships and experiences in a more meaningful way.

I won’t assume I know your experience or rush to tell you what to do. Instead, we can take time to understand what’s happening for you, together. I want to understand you, with you. As we explore, I’ll gently share what I’m noticing and wondering. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say. We can take our time, building trust at a pace that feels right for you.

We’ll take time to notice what’s happening for you. That may include your thoughts, emotions, bodily responses, or maybe something that doesn’t quite have words yet. As we get to know each other, we may begin to notice familiar patterns in how you relate to yourself, to other people and even to me. Rather than trying to get rid of these patterns, we’ll get curious about them, and by understanding them, we can create the possibility of responding differently.

Common themes I have worked with include

  • Anxiety
  • Shame and self-esteem
  • Loneliness
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Health Anxiety
  • Identity
  • Life-Transitions
  • Emotional Overwhelm

I am a fully-qualified Gestalt Counsellor and I work in an inclusive, affirming and anti-oppressive way, welcoming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, neurotypes and abilities. So, whether you’re looking for support with anxiety, relationships, loss, self-confidence, loneliness or you’re simply feeling stuck, this can be a place to understand yourself with greater compassion, rather than judgment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
