About me
I offer counselling to adults from a private and quiet room in rural Dorset, just outside Blandford, and within easy reach of Shaftesbury and Sturminster Newton—or online through Zoom. I am an integrative therapist who works in a trauma-informed, humanistic & client-centred way. This means that I don't work to diagnose or label a client, but to see the client always as a whole, unique person in the context of not just the present day, but also in how events in our past might resonate day to day and what the future could bring. Whilst this forms the core of my practice, being integrative means being open to and drawing in methods and theories from different modalities and sources. Working together to find what works best for the client and help them to fulfil their aims and take control of their life.
I believe that counselling offers a space where you can safely and confidentially explore yourself and any thoughts, behaviours or feelings that may be troubling you - away from the judgments and expectations of everyday life. If you have been feeling out of place, something has happened in your life to disrupt you, you are fed up with repeating the same mistakes, or you are wrestling with bigger questions about the meaning of your life - then counselling could be for you.
I have experience and interest in working with a diverse range of clients and issues including childhood bereavement, abuse, drug addiction, anxiety, depression, and questions of identity and purpose.
I would be glad to arrange an introductory call to discuss working together.
I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their ethical code of practice.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
