About me
Hi, my name is Richard. I help people understand themselves, express themselves, and feel better in themselves.
What's bothering you?
Do you have emotional stuff that is affecting your life? Are you experiencing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationships, work issues, or deep seated family patterns? Have you suffered enough?
My offer to you
I offer practical psychotherapy to remove emotional blocks and reconnect you with your true self.
I will invite you to talk about your experience of life. Where are you now? Where would you like to be? What needs to change? As we explore and reflect I will encourage you to notice any emotions and allow them to express themselves. I may suggest alternative perspectives, physical, or imaginative techniques to help the change happen.
The work can be emotionally deep so I like to keep things lighthearted and informal.
Some reasons you may choose to work with me are:
| Depth of change | Speed of change |
| Complex symptoms are usually the result of relatively simple root causes. Together we can find and heal any old traumas that are driving your current behaviour. | Talking about your problems is not always enough to change them. My approach is gently direct and I will coach you to face your fears and express your emotions. |
| Empowering teamwork | Energetic rapport |
| What you think is weakness may well be an opportunity to unfold. I will help you recognise and harness the power you already have within you. | I can feel the emotional energy in and around your body. We can dissolve or remove any blockages together. |
| Humour | Flexibility |
| Therapy can be serious without being somber. | Not everyone can commit to the same slot every week. I offer flexible appointment times from 8am to 7pm. |
My qualifications and experience
I have studied psychotherapy since 2002 and have been registered as a UKCP psychotherapist since 2008.
In my early life I trained as an engineer and worked as a management consultant until I had an emotional breakdown and experienced therapy for the first time. I was blown away!
Since then I have experienced, studied, and practiced many forms of therapy including NLP, metaphor therapy, hypnotherapy, psychedelic plant medicines, and empathic energy work. I seek to integrate what works into an approach that is deeply spiritual while also being grounded and practical.
My values
I am passionate about keeping therapy effective, ethical, and free from ideology. As a founding member of Just Therapy I share the values of: non-judgement; neutrality; identity-politics free zone; evidence-based practice; exploration, not affirmation; resilience; and free speech.
Where we meet
We can meet in person in Bethnal Green, online in your own space, or a combination of the two.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
