About me
My name is Rhian and I am an integrative psychotherapist practising a developmental and relational approach. It is important to me to create a warm and respectful relationship where you feel safe to explore your feelings and reflect on the challenges you may be experiencing. Therapy is a way of working through past or present difficulties, gaining new awareness and perspectives and feeling more connected with yourself and others.
I have been working therapeutically with individuals and groups for over fourteen years in private mental health services and statutory organisations. My experience within this has been focused on issues such as anxiety, relationship issues, addictions, eating disorders, trauma, depression, shame, loss, personality disorders and stress. Alongside my private practise, I work as a psychotherapist in a sexual violence service.
Initial contact
If, after looking at my profile, you feel that I may be able to help, you can email me or call me in the first instance. We can then look at arranging an initial session in which we can discuss what your current circumstances are and what you need from therapy. An important part of this initial session is to see if we are a good fit and whether we can work together.
Fees
My fees are £55 for 50 minutes.
I offer concessions for trainee counsellors/psychotherapists and have a limited amount of availability for lost cost therapy (fee negotiable and dependant on individual circumstances).
For EMDR therapy my fees are £100 for a 90 minute assessment and £65 per hour session.
Professional membership
I am a member of UKCP, Metanoia Institute and EMDR Association and abide by these bodies Codes of Ethics.
I offer short term and long term therapy, both face to face and online.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
