About me
Hi my name is Renata and I am a warm and responsive tri-lingual integrative counsellor trained in Petruska Clarkson’s 5 Strand Relationship Model.
As an integrative counsellor, I take a combined approach to therapy where I draw upon different therapeutic approaches to support my client’s unique needs. Petruska Clakson’s 5 Strand Model emphasises the importance of the therapeutic relationship as a crucial factor in the healing process. I work in a responsive and empathic way with what you bring and where you are at. I offer counselling in English (mother tongue), Portuguese (mother tongue) and Spanish (fluent).
In addition to being a general counselling practitioner, I work with a diverse range of clients. This includes those who are highly empathic and sensitive, as well as those with a history of abandonment and rejection. I also support clients dealing with high stress and burnout, parents of children with emotional or behavioural challenges, and individuals experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or depression.
I have a particular interest in working in the following areas:
- Early menopause and menopause
- The nervous system and stress response
- The connection between the mind, our emotions and the body
I offer short-term therapy for addressing specific issues and long-term therapy for tackling life’s bigger and deeper challenges.
My professional experience outside of my private practice includes working as a counsellor for a Parent Support Group charity and working in a GP surgery as part of the NHS talking therapy IAPT services in London. I have also worked as a medical interpreter and I am trained in other healing modalities such as crystal therapy and thetahealing.
When I'm not counselling, I enjoy practicing capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines dance and acrobatics. I also find rejuvenation in nature walks and exploring energy healing practices like reiki, sound baths, and crystal healing.
Please feel free to contact me to arrange an initial free 20 min call to see if I may be the right counsellor for you and to discuss the next steps.
Wishing you all the best on your healing journey!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
