About me
Hi, I'm Remi - a psychotherapeutic counsellor and member of the queer community.
You might be here because you are suffering with anxiety or depression, have experienced trauma or abuse, or are struggling with low self-esteem or stress. These are all things we can work on together in therapy.
I work in a neurodiversity affirmative way (for example, with ADHD and autism), and in a way that is affirmative of LGBTQIA+ folks. I have lived experience as a trans non-binary person, and professional experience of working alongside those experiencing gender dysphoria, or who are going on a journey of discovery around their sexuality or gender. I strive to work in a way that allows intersex people to feel safe in therapy, and to regularly educate myself in the challenges facing interesex people.
It is important to me that my practice is welcoming to marginalised identities including global majority, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals. Issues such as trauma, neurodivergence, marginalised identity and cultural oppression can all affect the way individuals can engage with therapy, so I try to take this into consideration in my practice. I strive to work in a way that allows intersex people to feel safe in therapy, and to regularly educate myself in the challenges facing interesex people.
I strive to work in an anti-racist and anti-colonial way, and consider myself an intersectional feminist. I strongly oppose conversion therapy and am part of a network of TNBI+ affirmative therapists.
Training, qualifications & experience
Although I was originally trained in the psychodynamic approach, I weave in a variety of techniques depending on the needs of the client. Issues such as trauma, neurodivergence, marginalised identity and cultural oppression can all affect the way individuals can engage with therapy, so I try to take this into consideration in my practice.
Aside from my training in psychotherapy and counselling, I have many years of experience working in mental health at a national charity, as well as in the wellbeing support team at a university. I engage in regular supervision and rigorous professional development, as well as ongoing training in areas of specialist interest.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
