About me

My name is Rebekah and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) offering counselling to individuals.

I offer face to face counselling and online counselling from my consulting room which is located at my home in the Vale.

Life can be challenging and tough at times and can take us on paths we might not expect, want or understand. I believe that we all have the potential and ability to lead fulfilling lives but sometimes we can feel confused and unsure of which way to turn. I offer a safe, accepting, supportive and confidential space where we can explore any difficulties or concerns you may be experiencing.

What you can expect from our sessions together

I believe that each client is best placed to understand themselves and therefore my role as a counsellor is to support, guide and help clients to find the answers and solutions to their questions and issues. I aim to try and understand each client and their experiences from their perspective, putting myself in their shoes. Together we can talk and explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, considering options you may have or decisions you need to make.

Relationship is central to my practice therefore by offering acceptance and understanding I believe we can work towards developing a trusting, authentic and honest therapeutic relationship.

By developing a greater understanding of yourself, your thoughts and your experiences I believe together we can work towards enabling you to move forward in your life and create positive change.

Session details

I believe that is important that you feel comfortable about working together therefore I offer a free 30-minute initial assessment session. This session allows us to talk through your needs and expectations of therapy and establish whether we can work together moving forwards.

Further sessions are 50 minutes and there is no limit to sessions offered.

Online sessions are available on request.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills, a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies and have most recently completed a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I have also completed training in Solution Focused Therapy and a variety of courses related to creative working in the counselling room.

I have 5 years experience in support related roles, both in the UK and Guernsey; with the last 2 years working as a counsellor in the voluntary sector.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
