About me
Hi, I'm Beka. I'm an integrative counsellor offering face-to-face counselling in Horley, Walk & Talk sessions in Horley and the surrounding area, and online counselling across the UK. I also have a long-standing background in teaching, having worked in education for many years.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety or depression, struggling with relationships, bereavement or loss, or finding that certain thoughts, feelings or experiences are becoming difficult to manage. Sometimes there isn't an obvious reason – you may simply feel that something isn't right or that you're finding life harder than you usually would.
I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space where we can explore what is happening for you. I won't tell you what you should do; instead, we'll work together to understand your experiences, recognise patterns that may be contributing to how you feel, and explore what might help you move forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
My qualifications include:
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
- Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
Additional training:
Down to Earth – Walk & Talk Therapy Training
My integrative training enables me to draw on different therapeutic approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, depending on the individual and what they bring to counselling.
I have experience of providing counselling within a hospice setting, including working with bereavement, grief, loss, death and dying.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer both short and longer-term counselling, depending on what you need, with regular opportunities for us to review how you feel the counselling is going.
Alongside face-to-face and online counselling, I offer Walk & Talk Therapy. This can be a helpful alternative if you find sitting face-to-face in a counselling room uncomfortable or simply prefer the experience of talking while walking outdoors.
Sessions are £60 for 50 minutes, and I offer a free 15-minute initial phone consultation before arranging a first session.
