About us

Hi, I’m Rebeccah, a person-centred counsellor. You might be feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed, or stuck in your thoughts. Perhaps your mind doesn’t switch off, you overthink everything, or you’re exhausted from trying to hold it all together. I work with people experiencing anxiety, including generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), as well as low self-confidence and feelings of not being good enough.

From the outside, things might look fine, but inside it can feel very different,  like you’re struggling quietly and carrying more than you can manage on your own.

lYou might feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to slow things down.

In our work together, I offer a calm, supportive space where you can feel heard without judgement and begin to understand what your anxiety is trying to tell you.

My approach is gentle, relational, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Rather than focusing on fixing or managing symptoms alone, we work towards greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and a steadier relationship with yourself  helping anxiety feel more manageable over time.

I also offer specialist support for those who have experienced miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or perinatal grief, where anxiety, sadness, numbness, or isolation are often carried quietly and alone. Therapy can provide a space where this loss is fully recognised and compassionately held.

I offer online therapy across the UK, as well as face-to-face sessions in Leigh, Lancashire. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, I offer a free, no-pressure 15-minute introductory call so you can see if working together feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold a first-class degree in Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling, and a Master's degree in Positive Psychology and Counselling.

I have completed safeguarding training, and my clinical experience spans a range of settings, from working within the NHS, higher education, and community services. This has involved supporting individuals with a range of mental health challenges including the breakdown of a relationship to supporting women exposed to domestic and narcissistic abuse, resulting in trauma-related difficulties.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
