About me
I'm funny. Ok, that might not be what you'd expect a therapist to say.
For 25 years, I've worked in personal development. Not always as a counsellor. I'm fascinated by what makes us tick, why we think the way we do, what holds us back, and how we find the courage to change. That curiosity has taken me on an unconventional path, blending neuroscience, psychology, intuition and humour to help people overcome self-doubt, trauma, and life’s inevitable wobbles.
At the heart of all my work is a single purpose: To support people to live in freedom.
Research shows it isn’t the technique that heals, but the relationship between client and therapist. That's why allowing humour, when it comes up naturally, to play a part in therapy.
I’m an integrative counsellor, which means I draw upon a blend of therapeutic approaches rather than sticking to one fixed method. This allows me to create a flexible, collaborative and inclusive therapy that responds to your unique needs.
Because often, we don’t even see the water we’re swimming in… until someone helps us notice.
I also work with people who have had an unexpected DNA discovery or a non-paternal event. https://mydnadiscovery.com
Some of the modalities I work with include:
- Transactional Analysis (TA) - exploring patterns in how you think, feel and relate.
- Spiritual and Existential approaches - making sense of meaning, purpose and belonging.
- Drama therapy - using creativity, role, and imagination to unlock insight.
- Psychosynthesis - working with the whole self, including the parts that may feel hidden.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) - understanding and healing the different ‘parts’ of you that may hold pain, protection, or inner wisdom.
All of this sits within a person-centred frame, grounded in honesty, empathy and unconditional acceptance.
In sessions, we explore the scripts that have shaped your life story. Together we ask: Is this story still serving you? And if not, we begin to rewrite it. Sometimes with words, sometimes through felt experience in the body.
I'm a qualified level 7 coach, which might come up as a tool in our sessions.
I'm also qualified in EFT Tapping, Matrix Reimprinting and Birth Reimprinting.
We may also use Sand tray therapy.
I have regular supervision with a psychotherapist.
If we decide to work together, sessions are:
- £60.00 per session
- 50 minutes (“the counselling hour”)
Usually weekly, as regularity is important for building trust and making steady progress.
Sessions take place online via Zoom or in-person in Weston-super-Mare.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I specialise in DNA Discovery.
Discovering that a parent isn’t your biological parent, or finding siblings you never knew existed, can bring a wave of confusion, hurt, and betrayal. These revelations often come wrapped in layers of secrecy, covered up by the people you love most. DNA tests are easy to get hold of, but processing the results can be life-changing.

Further information
I work from a room in a garden. In the summer, we can be out in hammocks or chairs, and in the winter, we are in a room that is used solely as a therapy space. There is a dog on site who will ignore you (don't take it personally, he sometimes ignores me, too).
