About me
*Update: I am currently unavailable for new client appointments until approx. May 2025.
Feeling lost, uncertain, and lonely amidst the pressure to “have it all figured out” - be it in our career, education, relationships, life direction and purpose - can leave us feeling as if there is something wrong with us, or that we are not good enough - despite feeling that we've done everything 'right'. It can be an overwhelming and sometimes dark place to be.
Perhaps you have a specific challenge that you would like to explore, or maybe you are reaching out for support during a really difficult and upsetting time.
Maybe you’re questioning the roles you find yourself playing in life and are curious to learn more about yourself, but aren’t sure where to begin.
If this sounds like something you are experiencing, then we might be a good fit to work together in therapy.
In my practice, I support clients with:
Finding your way in your 20s and 30s:
Life changes, uncertainty and feeling lost; Low mood, Sadness & depression; Career & education; Changing relationships with family; Relationship difficulties; Figuring out who you are and what you want to do.
Life Direction:
Choices & changes; Support when things fall apart; Navigating relationships; Search for meaning and living authentically; Career, education & purpose; Dealing with uncertainty; Exploring who you are, and how to live the life you want.
Identity & Self-Esteem:
Self-esteem, self-criticism & shame; Understanding yourself better; Anxiety and self-doubt; Women's issues across the lifespan; Men's mental health; Work-related stress and burnout; Being a high achiever, a 'helper', and perfectionism.
I also have experience working with communities and issues including:
- Disability, including sight loss and visual impairment (RNIB Sight Loss Counselling trained)
- Workplace stress
- Chronic illness
- LGBTQIA+ issues
- Gender, Sex / Sexuality and Relationship Diversity
- Men's mental health
- Women's issues
Women's issues
I work with women in their search for identity and meaning outside of their achievements, experiences, and the roles they find themselves playing in their lives. This often includes: self-esteem and self-criticism, relationship with self and with others, body-image, perfectionism, sexuality, career & education, and relationships.
Men's mental health
I often work with men through issues including: work-stress & pressure, life direction, depression / low mood, anxiety, relationship to masculinity, self-criticism & self-esteem, relationship difficulties, shame, loneliness, and loss. We collaborate on your chosen goals, working within a safe environment of non-judgement, understanding, and authenticity.
How can counselling and therapy help?
- Experience feeling heard, understood and accepted without judgement
- Space to be yourself
- Somewhere to bring painful feelings and experiences
- Figure out what is holding you back and find your way forward in life
- Improve your relationships with others
- Treat yourself with more kindness and care
- Support as you make positive changes
- Become better able to handle changes and challenges as they occur throughout life.
What will therapy sessions be like?
- Being supported in a calm, confidential and judgement-free space, always moving at your own pace
- Being with difficult feelings in a safe way
- An experience of being valued, seen and accepted for all that you are
- Authentic connection and conversation with a real person
- Therapy that is tailored to you as an individual, accounting for all your unique life experiences, background, and personality, that doesn't confine you to a box
- Gentle challenge and curiosity as you learn more about yourself and what you want out of life.
How I work:
Existentialism: Living a life that feels meaningful and authentic
Who are you, and what is your place in life? My approach to therapy is existentially based, offering the opportunity to gently explore the big questions in life, without judgement or pressure.
Philosophies drawn from Feminism and Spiritual Traditions
I draw on feminist and spiritual principles of Power-With (as opposed to Power-Over), fluidity, balance, and embracing change, in my approach to therapy. I also incorporate philosophies from spiritual traditions in my approach to understanding and coming to terms with suffering and uncertainty, and its impact on our lives.
Impact of Culture, Gender, Sexuality and Individuality
Who we are, and the challenges we face in life, do not exist in a vacuum: we are all directly and differently impacted by the circumstances in which we live, and by our unique experience of life. Our work in therapy takes all of this into account, as well as any other aspects that you feel are meaningful to you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
