About me
Hello! I’m Rebecca. I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist, specialising in children and young people. I work primarily with those who have experienced relational, developmental or acute trauma. I believe in the power of creative methods, including play and metaphor, as transformative tools for exploring emotions and experiences. I provide a variety of creative materials to facilitate this process, helping young clients express themselves in ways that words alone may not allow.
I am passionate about supporting children and young people through the challenges they face today. In addition to trauma, I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, OCD, chronic health conditions, sleep difficulties, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, bullying, family or relationship problems and attachment difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold diplomas in Psychotherapeutic counselling and in Psychotherapy, both with a specialism in children and young people. I also have a BSc in Occupational Therapy, which informs my psychotherapy practice, particularly in areas of neurobiology and somatic approaches to working with trauma. I have experience working therapeutically in schools, the charity sector and privately. I am able to work with pre-school children upwards. I also offer DDP-informed (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy) parent-child work. I offer parent-only sessions as standalone support or as a preliminary step before beginning joint work with both parent and child.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My approach is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic models and theories to tailor intervention to the unique needs of each child or young person. I use a strengths-based approach to build resilience and identify each individuals' unique gifts and interests. I strive to help children and young people recognise their own strengths and explore how they have already shown huge resilience in overcoming past difficulties, empowering them to face future challenges with greater confidence and self awareness.
