About me

I’m Becky, a BACP-registered psychotherapist, offering 1/1 therapy, online, to clients across the UK.

At its heart, my practice leads with a knowing that while the experiences we face in life can be and feel all-consuming, they are not all that we ‘are’. I believe that counselling can offer individuals the opportunity to be heard and supported without judgement - whatever they might be going through.

As a person-centred therapist, my approach is rooted in respect for my clients and how they experience the world. It is with this in mind that I invite my clients to explore what they might be feeling, at their own pace, and in a way that feels right for them. I am not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ therapist. Instead, I am a firm believer in the power of the therapeutic relationship and working together to come to what therapy could look like for you.

I currently hold sessions via the online platform Zoom.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Qualifications:

  • MSC Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • MA Linguistics
  • BA (Hons) Linguistics

I built my therapeutic experience within the NHS, offering counselling to clients within Macmillan Cancer Support.

Within my Private Practice, I continue to support individuals affected by cancer as well as loss and bereavement. I am also deeply passionate about working alongside clients seeking support with reproductive health experiences such as abortion, miscarriage and baby loss.

In addition, I work with clients experiencing life changes, work-related difficulties, loneliness, and self-esteem challenges.

I work with trainees, adults and older adults.

I am also a guest lecturer at Keele University - and have facilitated workshops and taught sessions for trainee counsellors.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
