About me
Hello! I'm Rebecca, a fully qualified counsellor based in Motherwell.
How counselling could help
Counselling is a private space for you to talk about whatever is on your mind. To sit with someone who is professionally trained, not just to listen, but to help you sort through how you have been feeling and hopefully feel better about yourself. Life is often unpredictable, busy and complicated and sometimes we can lose sight of who we are or what we want. If you are feeling lost, stuck or unfulfilled, I'm here to help you rediscover what it means to be you.
Our sessions could provide a dedicated time which is only about you, a place where you will not be judged and can come as yourself. Our sessions would not be about trying to fix you, but about uncovering your strengths and making space for you to explore your feelings and experiences. No matter what you are coming to talk about, I will treat you with respect, openness and empathy. I hope to work together to help you feel more connected to yourself and change how you feel about your life for the better.
Couples Counselling
Talking about your relationship with someone new can feel daunting and vulnerable. Similar to individual counselling, you may not have spoken to anyone about your relationship before and it can feel strange. I can assure you that the sessions will be confidential and impartial, casting no judgement on either individual's past actions. I support couples to work through conflicts, improve communication and connection and understand more about their relationship and how to move forward.
How it works
I offer a free twenty minute introductory telephone call to see if we seem the right fit for each other, where you can change your mind, no questions asked. If you want to go ahead, we will schedule a time to meet weekly or fortnightly. I always routinely check in how the sessions are going for you and how many sessions feel right for you.
I know from my own experience opening up and seeking support can be scary at first but it could be the thing that changes how you are feeling. If this sounds right, I would love to hear from you via email and we will find a time that feels right for you to have our first call.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
