About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed or anxious? Are you struggling with a range of complex problems that you would find it helpful to talk through? Perhaps you are experiencing loss, or having difficulty managing change and uncertainty. Maybe you find yourself repeating patterns that are not helpful but you don’t feel able to stop.
Perhaps you are not exactly sure why you need therapy, but just have a sense that you need to talk. Whatever you may be struggling with, I offer a safe, professional, confidential space where you can explore what’s going on and gain strategies to move forward.
I am an experienced counsellor and therapist with a compassionate, empowering approach. I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of skills to support you to build inner resilience and build a toolkit of strategies.
Working with me can help you to increase your self-awareness and develop the ability to reflect. By learning to take a step back and observe what’s happening within, we can learn to respond rather than react. This can widen our range of choice and help us to respond differently to situations that we face and manage triggers. I can help you to regulate emotions and feelings which can lead to finding an internal sense of calm.
Each person who comes for therapy is unique. Therefore, I tailor my approach to resonate with who you are. Therapy in the humanistic tradition is about the relationship that has formed between therapist and client, and this is central to how I work.
I work at depth which means that I will help you to get to the roots of the dilemmas that you are facing, which can help you to establish lasting change. Issues that I work with regularly include anxiety, workplace stress, relationship difficulties and childhood trauma. I support a wide range of clients, including professionals, creatives and LGBTQ+ community.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. Psychosynthesis is a humanistic therapy with psychodynamic roots. In my practice, I draw upon a wide range of tools including mindfulness, CBT techniques, solution focused approach, breath work, body centred approach, creativity and guided imagery.
Prior to training as a Psychosynthesis therapist, I have many years’ experience supporting clients using counselling and coaching to make more empowered choices and develop compassion towards themselves. I have a background working in mental health at managerial level, supporting clients with mild to moderate mental health challenges, addiction and 12 Step recovery. I also facilitate personal development workshops and therapeutic groups working with meditation, symbols, myths and archetypes.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Our first session together comprises of an initial assessment, where we explore your background and reasons for coming for therapy. The first session has therapeutic value in itself, and will give you a sense of what I offer. After this assessment, we make a mutual decision as to whether working together feels appropriate. I suggest making an initial commitment of 6-12 sessions, and then we can review. I offer a 15 minute telephone consultation free of charge prior to booking a first session.
