Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist

About me

Overwhelmed?  Let’s Make Sense of it Together

Quiet the Noise and Reclaim Control.  Find Clarity, Confidence and Calm.

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn next? You don’t have to keep doing it alone. Therapy can help you quiet the noise, make sense of your emotions, and start feeling more in control of your life.

I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist who tailors each session to you — your story, your pace, your needs. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, self-doubt, relationship struggles, or life as a neurodivergent person, I’ll help you find clarity, confidence, and a stronger connection to who you truly are.

Talking within a safe, trusting and confidential relationship gives you the space and the time to explore what’s going on for you.  I can offer you the space to untangle what’s going on inside, to understand yourself more deeply, and to begin moving forward toward the life you actually want – one build on self-trust, clarity and connection.

I am based in Sheffield and I offer therapy both online and face to face, creating a confidential, safe and supportive space where you can explore what’s happening for you.

MY APPROACH
People often tell me that I’m really easy to talk to and connect with – friendly, down to earth and someone who you can be yourselves around to explore your thoughts, feelings, memories, and behaviours. I believe that connection is one of the most important parts of therapy — feeling comfortable enough to open up and know that you’ll be met with warmth, humour, and genuine care.  The relationship we build together is at the heart of the work I do. I believe that real change happens when you feel truly seen and understood, so I’ll always meet you where you are — no pressure, no judgment, just honesty and kindness.

My approach is client-led and integrative, meaning we work together collaboratively, using techniques that suit you and your unique needs.  Everyone’s different so I work really hard to find out what feels right for you.  I draw on a range of ideas such as working with different ‘parts of self’ and how they interact with each other.  We can work with Mindfulness where we notice your thoughts and feelings without judgement whilst quietening down the mind. We can apply some key principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy which focus on accepting yourself, committing to actions aligning with your values and developing self-compassion whilst reducing self-criticism.  We can look at ways to ground you and pull you out of your 'threat' system.  We can explore your inner-child and connect and heal with the vulnerable, often unmet part of yourself through re-parenting.  We can re-tell your story through narrative therapy and use creative approaches, helping you understand yourself, manage difficult emotions, and make choices that align with your values.  And we can look at coping mechanisms and grounding techniques to help calm down a heightened nervous system.  We will do regular reviews to ensure that we are working towards your therapy goals.

I get to witness the most amazing changes in my clients lives and it takes job satisfaction to another level. I’ve seen clients move homes or cities, change careers, navigate challenging relationships, and become more confident, assertive, and in touch with themselves. I’ve witnessed people’s relationships flourish — both with themselves and others — and even seen improvements in physical wellbeing as mental health strengthens.  And I’ve helped people to find healthy coping strategies to navigate complex neurodivergent wiring.

I’m passionate about helping people move towards a greater sense of balance, meaning, and self-acceptance.  I would be honoured to join you on your journey of self-discovery, helping you to explore your inner world whilst I listen and support you.  I truly believe that my own skills and life experience can help you to bring about change in your own life.

Seeking therapy is a brave and powerful step. By carving out space to invest in yourself, you give yourself the chance to better understand who you are and gain the confidence to make choices that truly reflect your values and needs.  The changes you make in therapy will help you to move forward and build a more meaningful life with more enriching relationships and fulfilling experiences.

You might feel nervous or unsure about how therapy works, but my clients often comment on how quickly they feel at ease with my friendly, relatable style and the guidance I provide along the way.  They say the therapy feels natural, relaxed, and even brings some lightness and laughter alongside the deeper work.  If you’re looking for someone real and approachable, who’ll listen, guide and help you make sense of things in a way that feels like you, then it’s worth getting in touch to see if we are the right fit.

WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR?
Therapy is a space for you to be truly heard and accepted without judgment. Just as we go to the gym to strengthen our bodies, therapy is a way to exercise your mind — to explore and understand yourself more whilst you develop and grow.  You might be struggling with anxiety or be battling with low self-confidence and tormented by critical thoughts.  You may want some support navigating a challenging relationship with yourself and others.  You may be looking for ways to turn down the noise from your busy mind or to relax any stress that is manifesting within your body.

Therapy can also support you in facing difficult past experiences. By safely exploring memories and emotions, you can re-process them, make peace with what’s happened, and develop new ways to cope.  By connecting your present challenges to past experiences, you can gain clarity on why you think, feel, and behave the way you do. This understanding can help you make conscious choices about how you want to live your life, reduce confusion and fear, and create lasting positive change.

Therapy enables you to release ‘stuff’ which will help you to feel lighter and happier, building on your qualities, quietening down the noise and making choices that align more with your values.  You can take on new perspectives about how you view or feel about yourself, your relationships, and your life situation and release patterns or beliefs that may be holding you back.  You can start to love and trust yourself more and accept yourself for who you really are.  You can learn coping mechanisms to help you manager your life, relationships and emotions better and practice grounding techniques to calm down your nervous system.  It’s about learning what you can change, accepting what you can’t, and building resilience along the way.

Your therapist doesn’t tell you what to do or believe. Instead, they listen deeply, offer empathy and support, and share insights and tools that may help you move forward in a way that feels right for you.  Psychotherapy within a trusted therapeutic relationship working towards feelings of safety, can facilitate a greater understanding of yourself, of your choices and your inherent strengths.
