About me

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming—you want someone who truly understands you, listens without judgment, and helps you navigate life’s challenges.

That’s why I’m here. My name is Rachel, and I’m an experienced psychotherapist based in Liverpool. My own journey through struggles with disordered eating, anxiety, and depression led me to therapy, which was a life-changing experience.

Inspired by the impact my own therapy had on me, I now help others work through their difficulties, gain clarity, and create meaningful change. Whether you have a specific issue in mind or just feel that something isn’t quite right, we can explore it together.

I offer face-to-face sessions in my Liverpool office, outdoor therapy in the peaceful Festival Gardens, and online sessions via Zoom.

To ensure we’re the right fit, I provide a free 20-minute consultation before our first full session. My goal is to support you in moving forward in a way that feels right for you, helping you build a more fulfilling life on your terms.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP with a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Level 2 qualification in Solution Focused Therapy.

With five years of experience as a therapist, I also bring a background in secondary teaching and over eight years of running a successful business.

I have completed a certificate in Taking Therapy Outdoors, allowing me to offer sessions in natural settings alongside traditional in-person and online therapy, and I am soon to complete a Forest Bathing Practitioner course to further enhance my nature-based skill set.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I offer therapy in a variety of settings to suit your needs. My private office is based in Liverpool’s commercial district, providing a comfortable and confidential space for in-person sessions. For those who find nature beneficial to their well-being, I also offer outdoor therapy in the peaceful surroundings of the Festival Gardens, with the option to walk alongside the river. Additionally, I provide online sessions via Zoom, allowing for flexibility and accessibility.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and client-centered. Whether you have a specific issue you’d like to work on or just feel that something isn’t quite right, we can explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I integrate Transactional Analysis and Solution Focused Therapy, tailoring each session to your individual needs.

Before committing to therapy, I offer a free 20-minute consultation to introduce ourselves and discuss how we might work together. The first full session is an opportunity to gain an understanding of your current situation, explore what you hope to change, and begin taking steps toward meaningful progress.
