About me

Are you struggling to talk about something and feel like you are having to hide your true feelings from the people in your life? Finding a therapist can feel like an overwhelming task, especially at a time when we are at our most vulnerable.

I'm Philippa, a qualified integrative counsellor/psychotherapist and registered Member of the BACP. I have experience working with childhood trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss of identity, life transitions, neurodiversity and sexuality. I also have a specialist interest and experience in perinatal and postpartum care. I work with baby loss, stillbirth, miscarriage, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, abortion, medical abortion and the unique grief and loss of losing a baby and the dream of a baby.

It is important for me as your therapist to build a genuine connection with you. I offer a safe, nurturing space, a place of comfort and security where you are safe to be yourself, free from judgement, where every part of you is met with empathy and compassion.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I am trained in multiple therapeutic approaches which means we can create a unique therapy experience that feels right for you. I believe that within the safety of the therapy relationship, together we can create an environment where you can heal and grow in whichever way you choose.

If you would like to know more about how therapy might feel and if I am the right therapist for you, I offer a free 20 minute consultation online or by telephone.

You have already taken the first step by visiting this page. I am here to make the next step a little bit easier.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
