About me
Hi, I am an Art Therapist who has been working with children and young people since 2010. I use a child-centred approach using a mix of talking, art and play to engage with young people on the level they are most comfortable with, to explore whatever is affecting them. I believe in a friendly approach, where we build a good relationship and develop trust so that we can work together to unpick what is happening, explore how it is affecting their inner world and look at how they can move forward.
It’s very natural for things to go wrong sometimes in a child’s life.
Issues at school or at home can affect children and young people in different ways and sometimes it can be helpful to reach out for some additional support. I offer individual art/play-based therapy, which would give your child a safe space to explore any issues that may be worrying them and stopping them from moving forward.
I also offer a service to parents who would like the opportunity to discuss any issues that may have arisen for their child. A chance to discuss, offload and explore what might be happening in a non-judgemental space. “We are only as happy as our unhappiest child.” Is a phrase many parents can relate to. This can be a precursor to therapy with a child or a completely independent service. This service can be accessed online or in a comfortable, informal setting such as a coffee shop or a walk outdoors.
If you are interested in either individual therapy for your child or some parent support, please get in touch, and we can have an initial free 15-minute conversation to see if we are a good fit and if it is something you wish to explore further.
I am also a Clinical Supervisor and offer online supervision, with a special interest in school-based therapies and creative therapies with young people. I have over 15 years of experience working as a school counsellor in schools, primary, secondary, SEN, and PRU. Supervision is suitable for any therapists or counsellors interested in this field, or school staff looking for additional support.
